How Xanadu Gallery's Art Catalogue Drives Art Sales

Over the last several months you may have received my invitations to participate in Xanadu Gallery's Art Catalogue. I'd like to share with you some of the recent successes we've had with the catalog, and some of the reasons I feel Art Catalogue offers you a great opportunity to share your work with qualified art buyers.

As the owner of Xanadu Gallery, I've spent the last 11 years finding new and innovative ways for artists to share their work with collectors. Several years ago we completely redeveloped our website, opening it up to allow artists from around the world to share their work with our clients. In 2011, as an extension of these efforts, we began publishing Art Catalogue, a bi-monthly book that we send to our best collectors and a select group of high-end homeowners in the Scottsdale/Paradise Valley (AZ) area.

We've had a great response to Art Catalogue as it has generated sales and increased exposure for participating artists.

This week we made a sale for New York artist, Frank Lind, to clients in PA who found Frank's work through the digital version of Art Catalog on our website. Between the physical print version and digital version of the catalog, we reach a wide range of qualified buyers.

Last month we had a call from clients in Tucson who had seen a whimsical bear portrait in Art Catalogue by Toronto artist Laurie Stein and were interested in seeing it in person. We arranged to have the piece shipped to the gallery. The clients loved the piece, and after helping them find the right frame for the piece, the painting found a home in Tucson.

Several months ago I had a woman come into the gallery after receiving Art Catalogue. An executive in a local medical real estate company, the woman had never visited the gallery before. She and her husband were in the process of remodeling their home and were ready to begin acquiring new art for key areas. The client had her copy of Art Catalogue with sticky notes in the pages she was most interested in and asked me to arrange to see the pieces in her home. I contacted the artists and made arrangements to have the work shipped to the gallery.

I delivered the artwork to the client's home and she ended up buying over $10,000 worth of art. As I was leaving, she said "Now you know your catalog works!"

Advertising art can be a huge challenge for artists. It takes persistence and consistency, and that's why I've worked very hard to create an advertising vehicle that can help you put your work in front of collectors at an affordable price. A full page in the catalog costs only $209, which includes all of the design  and distribution - you simply upload your image after signing up and we take care of the rest.

In addition to showing your work in Art Catalogue, we will also feature your work on our website (just set up a free account).

We feature a wide range of original work in Art Catalogue - paintings, sculpture, fiber art, photography,  fine art jewelry, mixed media and more.

Participation is limited to 94 pieces of art and the next issue of the catalog is already 3/4 full.

If you would like to share your art with our collectors, simply follow the steps below. If you find the registration already full, sign up for a standby space - if space opens you'll get into this issue, if not you'll have a guaranteed space in the next issue.

Participation is simple

To participate, please follow the steps below - make sure you complete all three steps.

Click here to Register for Ad
  (or go to http://www.xanadugallery.com/XAC/RegistrationLink.asp)

You may register using either PayPal or your Credit/Debit card

Please note that the email address you use to register for the space is the email address where we will send upload instructions.

If the catalog is already sold out when you try to register you can try for stand-by status by going to:

http://www.xanadugallery.com/XAC/StandBy.asp
Only register for stand by status if you receive a message that the ad is sold out.

Step 2 Upload Your Image

Within 48 hours of registration you will receive an email with a personalized link for uploading your image for the catalog. The link will be sent to the email address used for registration for the catalog.

If you don't receive the link within 48 hours, please email Ashley at Ashley@xanadugallery.com and I will resend the link to the upload page.

Please upload your image at your earliest convenience.

The image should be in jpeg format and sized at a minimum of  300 dpi by 6-7" on the longest size. If you are unsure about image size, just upload the largest jpeg image you have and we will size and format.

Please note the image you send us will determine the final image in the ad. Make sure color is as accurate as possible to the original.

  • Unfortunately, due to our tight schedule, we are not able to answer questions like "does my image look okay?" The image you send me is the image that is going to appear.

You will see confirmation on our website once you have uploaded your image. This is the only confirmation you will receive. Please check your uploaded information and image carefully - the online proof is the only proof you will receive.

We will let you know if we run into any problems with the image or if we haven't received the image as we near the deadline.

Step 2 Upload Your Image

Be sure the image you are advertising in the catalog is uploaded to our site so that when the catalog comes out it will link to your work on our site.

To login to your account on our website go to www.xanadugallery.com/studios/login.asp

If you don't already have an account on our site, please go to www.xanadugallery.com/studios/join.asp to create a free page on our site and upload your image.

Please note that this is a separate upload process from the process you used to upload for the ad. You will be uploading twice - once to the ad and once to the website.

Also, we request that you reserve this piece of artwork for 60 days after the catalog launches for Catalogue customers. Please do not show the piece in shows or sell through other venues so that the piece is available to Xanadu customers for purchase.
