Glimpse of Recent Sales | Spring 2014 |
| by Xanadu Gallery Owner Jason Horejs |
|
We have had a busy, and slightly odd Winter and Spring season in Scottsdale. Sales have been good, but sporadic. As I mentioned in a previous post, Surviving an Art Sales Slump, we've had some periods of slower sales, and others of great sales. I expect that when we come to the end of the season, however, sales will be up from last year, a good sign for the continuing economic recovery in the art market. Those of you who follow reddotblog know that I like to post images of some of the work that has recently sold either in the gallery, on xanadugallery.com, or through our monthly Art Catalogue. It's fun to see work that has caught our buyer's attention, and it's a good reminder that art is selling - something that is easy to forget if your sales have been a bit slow. |

I believe that having too much art in one space hurts you in several ways. First, it makes your display look crowded and unprofessional. Most art needs some space to breathe. Your display will look better if each piece has its own visual space. Read More . . . |

Eventually, he was able to become a full-time artist and fulfill his dream of focusing all of his time on creating his art. The journey wasn't easy. The challenges that face an artist are many. It often takes years of education and practice to hone one's craft. It can be difficult to find work in the art field, and, as a consequence, many artists are forced to find other work for income. Often friends and family members discourage the full-time pursuit of art. Read More . . . |
